Of oriental origin and known since ancient times, patchouli - from patchai ellai, "green leaf" - is a Labiata, a close relative of mint, sage, basil and lavender, which silk merchants used as an anti-moth. Thus, with caravans, Patchouli arrived in the West. But for a long time no one dreamed of making a perfume out of it. It was the pacifist revolution of the sixties that chose it for its anxiolytic properties and made it the essence suitable for promoting new states of consciousness. These are stories and journeys that today we retrace only with memory. And with a hint of nostalgia.
For our Essence de Patchouli we wanted pure Patchouli essential oil, harmonized by the sensuality of Rose and Geranium, and made elegant by Vanilla, Amber and the woody touch of Sandalwood and Guaiac.
