Picture the scene: a placid river meanders through green plains. On the horizon, an intense orange sun rises behind a series of fluffy clouds. This is not a pastoral painting or a perfect scene torn from the pages of a classic novel. This is an olfactory memory of Escentric 03.

Vetiveryl acetate could be described as a hybrid molecule, half-synthetic and half-natural. It is a fraction of vetiver oil distilled from the roots of an Indian grass, which is then "crossed" with acetic acid to remove the bitter and leathery notes of the root.

Escentric 03 100ml focuses on vetiveryl acetate in a formula that pays tribute to the three roots used in perfumery: vetiver, ginger, and orris. "I wanted Escentric 03 to bring out the olfactory sensations of these roots and show how they harmonize with each other," says Geza Schoen.

Ginger dominates the top note, vibrant, green, and spicy with lime peel and green peppercorn. The heart is a rich and velvety orris with notes of Egyptian jasmine and tea. The base reveals the complex earthiness of vetiver, combined with sandalwood, cedar, soft balsams, and musk.

The result is a spicy but fresh and elegant chypre, with woody and balsamic notes: that intoxicating dark green wood note that you perceive while walking through tropical grass, but much softer and more velvety.
